Yves Trépanier and Kevin Baer established TrépanierBaer in 1992. The gallery specializes in the exhibition and sale of Canadian and international contemporary art and is considered to be one of Canada’s leading commercial contemporary art galleries. In addition to representing well known mid-career and senior artists such as Vikky Alexander, Eric Cameron, Chris Cran, Christian Eckart, Ron Moppett, Carol Wainio, Evan Penny, Alicia Henry, Luanne Martineau and James Carl, the gallery also maintains an active and successful program for the presentation of young and emerging Canadian artists’ work. The gallery has launched many careers and staged first exhibitions of works by now critically acclaimed artists Chris Millar, DaveandJenn, Ryan Sluggett, Kent Merriman Jr., to name a few. In the fall of 2016 TrépanierBaer introduced Berlin-based artist Ambera Wellmann to collectors in an exhibition titled Aujourd’hui Encore curated by Luanne Martineau and Yves Trépanier.
TrépanierBaer provides appraisal and consulting services to private individuals and corporations seeking to develop art collections or to de-accession their collections. Through its sister company Art to Public, the gallery also provides consulting services in the area of public art and has managed several major public art projects and commissions for corporations, civic entities and private collectors.
Located in Calgary, in the fashionable Beltine district, the gallery designed by Harold Crittenden and Swiss architect Urs Kick, provides 3000 square feet of exhibition space.
TrépanierBaer is a member of the Art Dealers Association of Canada (ADAC) and the Association des galleries d’art contemporain (AGAC).
